This warranty applies to genuine KRON Paint Protection Film installed and registered in the official KRON warranty system in accordance with these terms and conditions.
1. WARRANTY PERIOD
The warranty period begins on the film installation date recorded during warranty registration.
Warranty periods:
KRON PRIME — 6 years
KRON KORE — 6 years
KRON TRACE — 4 years
KRON STEALTH — 5 years
The warranty applies only to the original vehicle owner in whose name the installation was registered.
If the vehicle is sold, gifted or otherwise transferred to another owner, the warranty is not transferable and terminates.
2. WHAT THE KRON WARRANTY COVERS
Subject to compliance with the conditions of use and care, KRON warrants that the material will be free from manufacturing defects resulting in:
- excessive or abnormal yellowing of the film;
- cracking of the material;
- bubbling caused by a defect in the material itself;
- delamination of the film structure;
- premature deterioration of the material;
- significant loss of clarity due to a manufacturing defect;
- an adhesive layer defect caused by a manufacturing fault;
- peeling of the film where the confirmed cause is a defect in the material or adhesive layer, rather than installation, the vehicle surface or an external influence.
Normal natural ageing of the material during use is not considered a manufacturing defect.
3. CONDITIONS OF WARRANTY COVERAGE
For this warranty to apply, the following are required:
- use of a genuine KRON product;
- a valid KRON Roll ID;
- registration of the installation in the official KRON warranty system;
- a unique KRON Warranty ID;
- compliance with recommendations for use and care;
- use of the film for its intended purpose.
KRON may request photographs, videos, vehicle information, the VIN, Warranty ID, Roll ID and other information necessary to assess a warranty claim.
Where necessary, KRON may require an inspection of the vehicle or a material sample to determine the cause of the defect.
4. WHAT THE WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER
The KRON warranty does not cover damage to, or changes in the appearance of, the film resulting from:
- accidents, collisions or other mechanical impacts;
- impacts from stones or road debris that physically penetrate or damage the film;
- cuts;
- punctures;
- deep scratches;
- tears;
- vandalism;
- fire;
- exposure to extreme temperatures;
- improper washing;
- use of abrasive materials;
- polishing the film with unsuitable compounds or equipment;
- use of harsh chemicals;
- exposure to solvents;
- exposure to acids or alkalis;
- use of other unsuitable chemical products;
- improper use of pressure-washing equipment;
- prolonged exposure to bird droppings;
- insects;
- tree sap;
- tar;
- mineral deposits;
- hard water;
- other external contaminants;
- improper vehicle storage;
- inadequate care;
- self-performed repairs or modifications to the film;
- actions of third parties;
- improper installation.
PPF is a protective material, but it is not an indestructible coating.
The film is designed to reduce the risk of damage to the vehicle's paintwork, but KRON does not guarantee protection against every physical impact.
5. INSTALLATION AND WORKMANSHIP
KRON provides a warranty on KRON material, not on the quality of the installer's workmanship.
Installation defects are not manufacturing defects in the film.
Installation defects include, in particular:
- dust beneath the film;
- contamination beneath the film;
- hair and other foreign particles;
- traces of installation solution;
- improperly finished edges;
- improperly wrapped edges;
- edge lifting caused by improper surface preparation or installation;
- stretching marks and deformation caused during installation;
- tool marks;
- cuts;
- damage to the vehicle during installation;
- incorrect positioning of parts;
- errors when removing or refitting vehicle components.
The installer is responsible for the quality of the installation work.
6. REPAINTED AND REPAIRED PANELS
KRON is not responsible for the condition, quality or adhesion of the vehicle's paintwork.
Warranty coverage for the consequences of film installation or removal does not apply to repainted, repaired or non-factory-painted panels.
These include, in particular:
- panels painted after the vehicle was manufactured;
- panels that have undergone localised repairs;
- surfaces with body filler;
- surfaces with repair primer;
- surfaces with non-standard or aftermarket coatings;
- surfaces with previously damaged clear coat or paint.
Separation of paint, clear coat, primer or another coating from such panels during PPF use or removal is not a KRON warranty claim.
7. SURFACES AND COMPONENTS NOT GUARANTEED DURING REMOVAL
KRON does not guarantee that a surface will remain undamaged when PPF is removed from:
- repainted panels;
- repaired panels;
- plastic components;
- unpainted plastic;
- headlights;
- rear lights;
- carbon-fibre components;
- decorative trim;
- chrome components;
- components covered with vinyl or another film;
- emblems;
- badges;
- surfaces with damaged or weakened paintwork;
- surfaces previously treated with ceramic, protective or other coatings;
- any surface that is not the vehicle's original factory paintwork.
Even on original factory paintwork, KRON does not provide an absolute guarantee that the surface will remain undamaged during film removal.
Removal must be carried out professionally using the appropriate procedures.
8. FILM REMOVAL
The cost of film removal is not covered by the KRON warranty.
KRON is also not responsible for damage to the vehicle caused directly by improper removal.
The condition of the paintwork, previous repairs, vehicle age and other factors may affect the outcome of PPF removal.
9. CONFIRMED WARRANTY CLAIM
If a manufacturing defect is confirmed, KRON will provide the quantity of replacement KRON material required for the area accepted as a warranty claim.
IMPORTANT:
The KRON warranty covers replacement material only.
KRON does not pay for or reimburse:
- labour to remove the existing film;
- labour to install new film;
- vehicle disassembly;
- vehicle reassembly;
- washing and preparation of the vehicle;
- polishing;
- detailing;
- vehicle transportation;
- rental of a replacement vehicle;
- vehicle downtime;
- loss of income;
- any other associated expenses.
Even where a manufacturing defect is confirmed, KRON's obligation is limited to providing replacement material.
10. SCOPE OF WARRANTY REPLACEMENT
Warranty replacement is limited to the extent of the confirmed defect.
A film defect on one vehicle panel does not justify replacement of all film on the vehicle.
For example:
If a PPF manufacturing defect is confirmed on one fender, KRON may provide the quantity of material required to replace the film on that panel, rather than on the entire vehicle.
If systemic damage to the material is confirmed on several panels, KRON will determine the quantity of replacement material after assessing the warranty claim.
11. DIFFERENCES IN COLOUR, SHADE AND APPEARANCE AFTER REPLACEMENT
Following a partial warranty replacement, new film may differ slightly in appearance from material that has previously been in use.
Appearance may be affected by:
- material age;
- sunlight exposure;
- climate conditions;
- conditions of use;
- care;
- natural ageing.
A slight difference between new and previously installed material does not, by itself, justify replacement of all PPF on the vehicle.
For KRON STEALTH, any difference in the degree of satin or matte finish between new and previously used material is also assessed taking natural ageing into account.
12. WARRANTY REGISTRATION
The warranty must be registered in the official KRON warranty system.
Registration creates a unique:
KRON Warranty ID
Registration establishes a link between:
KRON Roll ID
→ installer
→ vehicle
→ original owner
→ KRON Warranty ID.
The absence of a valid registration may be grounds for refusing warranty coverage.
A counterfeit, altered, non-existent or blocked KRON Roll ID does not confer any right to warranty coverage.
13. MAKING A WARRANTY CLAIM
To submit a warranty claim, the following must be provided:
- KRON Warranty ID;
- vehicle details;
- VIN;
- installation date;
- installer information;
- a description of the problem;
- photographs and/or videos of the suspected defect.
KRON may request additional information, inspect the vehicle or request a material sample before making a decision.
Replacement material will be provided only after the warranty claim has been confirmed.
14. TRANSFER OF THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER OWNER
The KRON warranty is provided exclusively to the original vehicle owner registered in the system at the time of installation.
THE KRON WARRANTY IS NOT TRANSFERABLE TO A NEW OWNER.
If the vehicle is sold, gifted or otherwise changes ownership, the warranty terminates.
15. GENERAL LIMITATIONS
The KRON warranty is a limited warranty covering manufacturing defects in Paint Protection Film and is not vehicle insurance.
KRON does not guarantee prevention of all damage to the vehicle's paintwork.
KRON is not responsible for:
- the condition of the vehicle itself;
- the condition of its paintwork;
- previous bodywork or painting;
- the quality of work carried out by an independent installer;
- indirect or associated expenses, except where otherwise expressly required by mandatory applicable law.
If any provision of these warranty terms is restricted or prohibited by the applicable law of the country of sale, mandatory consumer rights remain preserved to the extent required by that law.
